CIG Director Jun CHU: Looking forward to deeper cooperation between China and Switzerland in various fields

On 17th June 2022, CIG Director Mrs. Jun CHU received an online interview with CCTV Chinese Global Broadcasting to discuss the opportunities brought by China's economic and social development to overseas Chinese.

Mrs. Chu said that Switzerland is a very friendly country with China and one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with China. Switzerland has a democratic and neutral political system. Of course, Switzerland is also redefining the concept of neutrality, as it demonstrated in the Russian-Ukrainian war. As a small country with a population of only 8 million, Swiss high technology is very powerful, which helps Switzerland become one of the richest countries in the world. There are many high-tech companies in Switzerland, which also brings new opportunities for overseas Chinese. The overseas Chinese in Switzerland are getting younger, and many of them are high-tech talents. The Swiss government also encourages such high-tech talents to start new companies.

When asked about the expectations for China's future development as an overseas Chinese, Mrs. Chu responded that Switzerland and China have always maintained good relations, and she looked forward to deeper cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially in ecological environment and high-tech fields.
